Bill Scoggin

Bill’s career has focused on providing key regulatory, legislative, and political advice and advocacy to corporations and associations. He also assists vendor companies with business development and procurement in the government marketplace.

Bill works with clients managing projects across the country, with a focus in the Southeast, Mountain West and Pacific Northwest. Bill’s work spans business transactions, real estate development, environmental matters and numerous other areas in which the private and public sectors intersect.

Bill advises clients in a broad range of industries, including manufacturing, finance, retail, insurance, energy and medical/pharmaceutical. As a result, he has encountered and resolved a wide array of problems and applies that experience for the benefit of all clients.

Bill holds a B. A. cum laude from Wake Forest University (English major/Mathematics minor), and law degree from the University of North Carolina.

Daniel Baum

Daniel works closely with healthcare, insurance, financial, and energy clients seeking opportunities or hurdling challenges with government. Primarily, his efforts are concentrated on advocating his clients’ initiatives before the North Carolina General Assembly and the Executive Branch. Daniel has been a registered lobbyist for more than a decade, and also serves as an adviser on matters related to state procurement contracts. He manages public affairs campaigns and lobbies city and county governments on issues that impact his clients’ business needs.

Daniel has been recognized during his career as one of the most influential lobbyists at the North Carolina General Assembly by the North Carolina Center for Public Policy Research in its survey of legislators, lobbyists, and Capitol Press Corps members.

Daniel received his B.S. in Political Science from Appalachian State University.

Chris Pittman

Chris joined Navigator from the office of House Speaker Tim Moore (R-Cleveland) where he was Senior Staff focusing on finance, taxation, banking, information technology, and unemployment insurance. Chris also served as an advisor and principal liaison between state agencies, federal agencies, and industry groups for the House Select Committee on COVID-19 – Economic Support. Before joining the Speaker’s office, Chris worked in the offices of Rep. Destin Hall (R-Caldwell) and Sen. Tommy Tucker (R-Union).

In addition to his legislative experience, Chris was the Finance Director for the NC House Republican Caucus and has advised public and private clients on fundraising and strategy for national campaigns across the United States. Chris graduated summa cum laude from Arizona State University with a B.S. in Communication, holds a degree in Agricultural Business Management from North Carolina State University, and is an avid Wolfpack supporter.

Cameron Henley

Cameron joined Navigator as a Senior Director, after sixteen years of state lobbying experience. He works in various industries, including environmental, energy, education, technology, and finance.

Prior to joining Navigator, Cameron was the Director of State Public Affairs at Moore & Van Allen. Previously, he served as a legislative relations specialist for ElectriCities of North Carolina and as a research assistant for North Carolina Forum for Research and Economic Education (NC FREE).

 

Mary Stuart Sloan

Mary Stuart began her career in government by working in the offices of Congressman Patrick McHenry, Senator Thom Tillis, and Senator Tim Scott. After building a strong foundation working with these members on the Hill, she sought to bring her experience back home and transitioned into state government. Mary Stuart accepted a position working for the NC House Senior Appropriations Chair, Representative Jason Saine (R-Lincoln), as his Legislative Assistant. She served in this role for nearly three years before starting her own consulting company, Sloan Strategies LLC.

Lane Hickman

Lane joined Navigator from a Raleigh lobbying firm where she advised corporate and nonprofit clients across the political spectrum. Prior to lobbying, Lane was the Legislative Assistant in the office of NC Senate Justice and Public Safety Chairman Danny Britt (R-Robeson) where she served as committee clerk and worked directly with lobbyists, state agencies, and constituents. Additionally, Lane was the Interim Finance Director at the Senate Republican Caucus advising candidates and members during the 2020 election cycle.

 Lane graduated from North Carolina State University with a B.S. in Political Science.

Janet Stevens

Janet manages lobbying and ethics compliance, invoicing, and accounting among many other responsibilities.

Janet has significant experience at multiple international law firms and joined Navigator from Troutman Pepper.
